I'd want to do cash register, inventory, pricing specials/discounts/closeouts, touch screen (for product categories), searchable data, track floor space and shelf space activity (like tracking which tables are doing best), accounting reports, employee hours and compensation, even possibly a customer mailing list, ultimately would love to coordinate physical store with website

Those requirements are beyond my understanding of what is available w/ Foreant. I would assume someone w/ more experience will answer back w/ help.

Greetings, I have a similar question. Have a friend with a store that does retail sales and rentals in the music industry. AM hoping this project can be of assistance. Commercial edition will be utilized if I find a solution that can work well. Basically the store doesn't use "tickets" like in restaurants and doesn't need to track venue table sections, only workstations that are doing a purchase. So ability to enter new customer data while doing a new purchase is ideal. Item lookup by barcode input (or keyboard) would be needed. Imagine a typical music store that also rents instruments and that is what we have. Ability to quickly add rental rates data and use it in recording and printing receipts for cash/credit payments would be ideal. Can add it if necessary but am hoping that something is out that that would "customize" the software from restaurant mode to "retail" thoughts anyone? I can be more detailed if need. thanks all.
